I’d like to clarify if i’ve got this weekly rest scenario right.
I’m taking a weekly rest today and tomorrow i.e Sunday and Monday, 55 hours with nothing to compensate for.
The rules state that this weekly rest can be counted in one fixed week but not both (as it straddles two “fixed” weeks). Previous weeks rests are taken care of so I want to count this normal rest period in fixed week beginning 00.00 Monday 15th April.
I will then work 6 shifts and commence a reduced weekly rest next Sunday 21 April at approx 19.30 for 35 hours. It’s then my intention to work another 6 shifts and commence a normal weekly rest on Sunday 28th April (45+ which will also compensate for the 10 hours owed from the previous reduction).
As I’m assigning the normal rest periods to a fixed week and not counting them in two fixed weeks, I’m assuming that I’m ok
Your informed views on this would be appreciated.

If the previous week ending 14th april has a weekly rest assigned to it then yes, the 55 hrs can count for the week commencing 15th
The above being the case then you can do as you suggest legally
You could also take the 28th as a reduced weekly rest which does not need compensating for and if 34+ hrs could be used as a 24 + 10 payback - as long as the next regular/full weekly rest starts no later than 2359 on Sunday 5th May

Not at all, thanks. I’ve learned a great deal from this forum from the likes of yourself and Tachograph so the input is appreciated. I work an any 4 from 7 shift pattern and like to fill with extras so I’ve had to learn to understand how I can max out hours within the rules.

I learned most from this site as well with special thanks to Coffeeholic tachograph and geebee45
