Searle’s went bust last Christmas didn’t they. A lot of their motors are still running out of Felixstowe, with the original lime green or turquoise (depending of they were Searle Dock Shunting or Searle Distribution) colours. They are logo’d with a company called ‘Ronin Global Services’ who obviously bought a job lot of em.

Not got any pics of them although they did use to have a website.[/url]

it was about june 2006 they went under ,they were about to change to another company name i think it was cp transport but the fuel people and bank pulled the plug about 3 days before it was all in place and basically shut them down.On a positive adam searle paul clarke and tony searle paid all the subbies every penny first which in this day and age is unheard of ,lets hope their o licence is approved next time and they reopen again they were a really good firm!

I can’t make out the last letter of the reg, either R or K, was this yours peterq5422?

Actros in Ipswich

FH in Great Barford before it was by-passed

Actros in distribution colours

could have been mine but it was painted the darker green and had the wakefield number on the front when i got it thanks for the pics

xhg266v was the 2nd artic i drove frostie sold it to a guy called tom we were based at debach airfield i had it on contract to mair transport who had depots at tilbury and fxt great to see it again although i have got some pics of it somewhere.

Just found this print for sale on ebay of an old Paul Magnus 111.

No Bartrums pics in this thread? Based in suffolk now but i guess norfolk before so not eligible for this thread?

My old man worked there when they had F7s, he had a brand new C reg, the adress on the door was Langton Green Eye Suffolk, they allways had the workshop and another yard in Diss, but maybe fair to say (thou it pains me) they were a Suffolk haulier, not too sure if they expanded to there from Diss or not thou. although all the bosses came from Diss. I put a couple of pics of my old mans F7 on the mighty F7 thread on here.

Yeah i did see them mate. I showed the lads in the office and Pip recognised ya pop. He also mentioned that he’d seen you recently.

The driver of the List F88 was Jock Wardlaw well known in Suffolk in the 70’s and 80’s, He was on contract to Loadwells as was i for a while when Terry and roy only had about 4 of their own trucks running out of ipswich Duke st on Sealand I think Dave Ball was an owner driver on there too. One of the Loadwell drivers was ricky millen who went on to work for Tolemans.

C P transport was colin powell he used to be tony’s transport manager. When he got ill topny took it over. TMH now running from felixstowe was somthing to do with tony searle but he is no longer part of it as far as i know.

Searle’s motors seem to be run by this lot now, who they are I don’t know. Below is the same truck, AY04GFG, in ‘new’ livery.

I think you’ll find this is Searle’s under a new name.

dont think searles have started again adam is running a few subbies from his house and tony is back shunting again ,think the o licence was not allowed to be reapplied for until 2009
