For years I have workd Mon to Fri so pretty much straight forward working hour tacho rules etc.
However I have started a new job 5 days on 3 off set 10 hours a day.
I have a. Few questions. Could I work a rest day as 10 hours overtime in other words be working 6 days in a row.
Also am I right the 15 hour rule extended driving etc.
Goes from midnight Sunday to midnight Sunday?.
There’s nothing to stop you working 6 shifts as long as you don’t go over 60 hours working time in a week (which on 10 hour shifts you won’t) and make sure it doesn’t put you over the 48 hours average working time.
If you do a 6 on 2 off shift pattern regularly you will need to keep an eye on your weekly rest period to be sure you have a weekly rest period for each fixed week.
By the 15 hour rule I assume you mean reduced daily rest periods, you can have 3 reduced daily rest periods between weekly rest periods.
You can do two 10 hour driving shifts in each fixed week (Monday to Sunday).
