Mortimers . . a la “eat more chips” ?

The steering wheel’s probably on the wrong side for Mortimers, I recon it might have been one of John Houghtons from Liverpool.

I weekended in France back in 89/90 with one of theirs, he was in a 3 series topliner and that was a ‘leftie’ so they’re definately not new to LHD.

.hi all,
back in the early 1980’s,on the yard our business is still located on,a mortimer’s 141 used to deliver spuds every week, month in month out.it may have been different 141’s,i don’t know?they were however all right hand drive.the reality is the remains of this 141 could have been owned by anyone ,sorry not to be of more help.
regards andrew.

hi all

this could be an ex thomasons of northwich, there’s a picture of one of their’s on e-bay at the moment, it looks strikingly similar

cheers
gaz

More likely to be an OD’s who converted it to 6 x 2 for the 38 tonne limit, looks like its been lying around for a while and has probably had many pounds (or would that be Kilogrammes) of body filler thrown at it over the years, best thing to do is put her out of her misery. Franky.

more to the point where is it ■■? (tongue in cheek pat )

It is in Broxburn … i spotted it from the M8 just before Uphall Train Station in the big units opposite.

That must be in the old Wimpey yard then.At least now its not Wimpeys you can get in for a look and see who it belongs to.Theres a lot of companies in there now.

SWEDISH CRAP.

i would rather drive that how it is than another ERF!

If Memory serves me correct, Felgates didn’t run 141’s and none of their 111’s were tags, the only tags they had were the 112 when RD took an interest and added the tags

Hi could it possibly have been ex Geoff Leighton’s of Kidderminster?

i just noticed on an old copy of t&d i think a company called charles alexander (?) although the pic didnt have a red chassis

went down there a few weeks ago and the init is no longer there…■■?

it went some point last year, i noticed it had gone a while ago

Almost a year later and no closer, although Thomasons seems a possibility, the one that Ainacs posted has a blue step and white bumper

i will stick to my first guess pentons haulage and an early euro axle convertion they often made a balls up think they have there act together now

pretty sure this is ex thomasons, they always did there own tag axle conversions, thomo’s ran a few of these, and went oversea a lot.

newmercman:
As it’s in Scotland & it has the same colour scheme as Mcsomething or other from Perth it could be one of theirs, although they run ERFs & Fodens

i know exactly who you mean , and considering where it is i would agree with you.

On the Scania 112 thread there is a 112 in exactly the same colour scheme, albeit in better condition only slightly though.

gogzy thatll be this firm your thinking of i used to load out their yard for the midlands
