Only 11 drivers on strike it seems, but getting a national news mention.
Our lot voted ninety something in favour (one vote against) of 6% a month or two ago, wonder if they manage to get an improved deal.

Iron Bru… “may not get through”. Because of 11 drivers striking.
I suspect it will.
Coca-Cola…
Is the best selling soft drink in every country it’s marketed in except one. In Scotland, it’s second behind Irn-Bru.
This is quite serious. We all know how grumpy Scots people are and that’s with Irn-Bru to soften the hangover.
So the unions have failed to get a decent pay rise ( even though all we ever hear is how you only get a decent pay rise if your company is unionised) ,
And of course the answer is too go on strike & cost there members ££££££ in lost wages
What about getting back in there & doing what employees pay there subs for ,negotiate a decent pay rise
■■■■ me we sent up 2 driver reps & got nigh on x2 that & don’t pay a penny in subs
^^^^ pity you didn’t have the free legal team that your union membership entitles you to when you were bending over in front of the TC mate. #justsayin

I didn’t go before the t/c , I was sent a letter & issued a caution

As your a Union disciple moaster , you can maybe tell me if I had gone before the t/c what this free Union shop steward was going to do for me , I’d pleaded guilty in court / found quilty in court
So would the Union of got the decision to find me guilty overturned ? Maybe a apology from the t/c for the mental anguish caused , recompense for costs , fuel / meals ,
Maybe picket the t/c office
I’m not convinced they’d do ■■■■■■■■ moaster as they apparently can’t manage to tighten a few coat hooks at your place ( your job was looking decidedly dodgy the other week / some fridge mob taking your work )
as MD1987 has already intimated the bru “won’t get through” !

You probably wouldn’t have had to run bent if you’d have been in a Union though Dozy just saying like
The 11 drivers will be the class one guys. The class 2 guys get paid differently due to the amount of handball. I think they get paid per case they deliver weirdly
Good luck to them. Unite will be giving them £70 a day strike money, so it’s not as sore on the pocket as you’d first think.
We’ve just voted 70% in favour of strike. Never been on strike before looking forward to waving my fair pay home made banner and slinging bricks at any scab lorry drivers crossing the picket

Are you under the impression that it’s your shop steward himself who represents you in front of the TC/court?

I could spent a morning going back over the circumstances of that day , but the facts are no- one made me take my card out & drive without it , I chose to do that , I could of just have easily not done it , the vosa bloke said why did you do it , you should of just wrote on a printout , everything would of been fine
But that’s me , Union / no Union the result would of been the same , some people / drivers are calm people who think about the results of there actions , I’m afraid Im no t / don’t
When I was engineering ( mostly unionised) there were plenty that were sacked , unions couldn’t do anything for them and a union would of made no difference to my actions that day , it was only a matter of time , they could not of defended me in court as I was quilty , could they of cut the £776 fine , £400 was dvsa solicitors fee , think £30 victim surcharge , fine , can’t see it , in the event of everyone , dvsa solicitor saying I’d get a suspension of my lisense / have to appear before the t/c , I got a letter with a caution , I didn’t get sacked , in my opinion I did ok , it could of been so much worse !!!
Have I learnt from the experience , honestly no , I’m too old to change , and a union holding my hand for me wouldn’t make a ounce of difference
Nb there I guess would of been thousands of drivers that day at that company who choose Not to remove there card & drive without it , I did , says all you need to know really , union would not of changed my actions / outcome

Educate pork , that’s a bit rich comming from you
I’ll repeat myself for the thick / hard of hearing
I did not appear before the t/c ( Did not ( hopefully it get through this time )
I received a letter from the t/ c stating her decision was I was to receive a caution for my actions
I’d already please quilty , I did the night I was stopped at tootill , been found guilty in court , what do you think a bloody union are going to do , get the court decision overturned
What grounds , I removed the card & drive without it , it’s slam / dunk guilty
Hopefully in future you don’t drink so much on a Saturday night then you won’t make such a fool of yourself
I repeat just for you , I did not appear before the t/ c , I received a letter with a caution
Maybe sober up before you reply !!!
Does anyone know how much the class 1 drivers at AG Barr get paid
SHYTOT:
Does anyone know how much the class 1 drivers at AG Barr get paid
I went in there 2/3 times a week at times , wasn’t there something about collecting money on board
I assume rigids , that would put me straight off never how much they pay .

11 , was there only 11 artic / rigid drivers at ■■■■■■■■■■■ , that suprises me I thought there was a sight more that 11 motors lined up down the middle of the yard , there seemed a fair few trailers ( artics ) there as well , maybe 2/3 shunters , are all the drivers out
I know Manchester / Sheffield / Birmingham / Milton Keynes didn’t have there lorries in , subbies doing there work , or did 3/4 yrs ago
I’m sure there was Barr ridgids based at stobart Dagenham
11 drivers including shunters sounds wrong to me

Maybe only 11 drivers in the union Doze may be more on site not in the union .
Truth be told I was past it yesterday and saw no sign of a picket line or anyone standing outside waving flags . I could be wrong but I think a fair bit of the work is done by subbies so it might not be as big a protest as the union are trying to make it out to be .
11 drivers only. Can see them out of a job soon. They will just sub it out. They are too few drivers to make a difference.
