Fuel tanker drivers to strike at Stanlow and Scottish boarders.
Hoyer drivers have voted to strike due to significantly lower pay compared to colleagues in other parts of the country.
About time Hoyer are held accountable for how they treat drivers on the white fleet.
I Fully support the cause and so should others. Fight for better/equal terms and conditions or it’s a race to the bottom.
Their drivers are highly skilled, hard working and deserve every penny for keeping the country moving.
And im sure Joe public will strengthen their position buy panic buying, filling up every car they own when they normally only stick £25 in hahaha!
Unite confims strikes will take place
June 6-8th & 13-15th.
Let the ques commence!
Best of luck to them.
I remember when fuel tanker drivers were among the best paid in the job.
Nice to see drivers sticking together for a change against pi55 taking firms.
Speaking of which…We have been waiting for a pay raise for ages, they offered what equates to about 12 quid extra per week…
(correction, I say ‘offered’ it was more a case of ‘that is what you’re getting’.)
Job aint worth a twopenny ■■■■ anymore.
Read the union article didn’t know hoyer was now oxalis who ever they are.
Strike is because Thurrock drivers are on £2 an hour more than stanlow and Scotland drivers .
Can see why there striking. but your money goes further up north get more than you would living in thurrock.
I take your point.
It seems common that there is a London weighting in some jobs because of the higher cost of living there.
Who can argue with that?
But ask different questions?
Is it right to get more in the south east?— — — Probably yes.
Is it right to give a pay less to those in the North?— Probably no.
Same issue with two contrary answers.
I had best of both worlds between 2000 and 05.
I worked as a tramper for a Colchester based firm,.whilst living up here, with the truck based at home.
So Northern based with Southern wages.
The pay up here was (and still is) cack.
When I was made redundant when the firm ceased trading, I then worked for the Dutch, then the Belgians…so a win win situation for quite a few years, until they also ceased trading.
Then when I started with the local crew that I am still on for, with lost bonuses etc and perks, my income went down considerably, it was about 600 quid a month my Mrs reminds me.
Does anyone know if they actually went on strike? Article says 6 to 8 June which as come n gone .
I’m from Manchester never heard anything on news about it. And all petrol stations I’ve seen. All seem to be operating as normal.
