It must have been about 70 years ago I was with my dad and one of his deliveries was in Beverly. with one of his deliveries in te town. In those days not even A to Z’s been printed and we had to ask people walking down the pavement to get directions. As I was in the passenger seat told to pull the window down and ask directions. ‘Just ask & not let them see the delivery note as they’d be more interested in seeing what we are delivering and to who’ I was always told. The chap said 'Straight through ‘The Bar’ and 2nd left. My dad shouted over my shoulder ‘What! with this’ and the chap looked up and saw we were in a 13ft high luton van and said he was sorry as he didn’t know how to get there.
