From what I’ve gleaned, a group of architects called Mott, Hay and Anderson (based in London) were involved in the designs of both the Tyneside bridge and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. One reason the Tyneside bridge opened four years earlier (1928 vs 1932) is that it’s much shorter and much narrower. It’s also worth noting that both owe something to the design of New York’s Hell Gate Bridge (opened in 1917).
