That lady looks so elegant, nowadays she would either have a skirt so short that it revealed tomorrows laundry or a pair of jeans with the knees hanging out and covered in tatoos!
Pete.
Buzzer’s photo of Blackburn kindled a few memories, going by the ergo cab AEC or Leyland, the thruppenny bit FG also Ford ■■■■■■ and looks like maybe a Triumph as well. The Ergo cabs came out 1966 so ten or more years previously I would have been trundling along that road A96 on many a shift from Aberdeen to Inverurie at the wheel of a Leyland PD2 Double Decker, music to the ears that engine so able and so reliable.

I hope that nobody thinks this picture is Blackburn in Lancashire . It is Blackburn, West Lothian,
in Bonny Scotland. Susan Boyle from " Britains Got Talent " lives here. Cheers, Ray.

10 years later I would have done the same journey albeit from Inverness to Aberdeen in a Bedford TK. By god it was a hard drive in those days without power steering.

Pictures of new lorries carrying test weights on the A5209 up the steep hill from Parbold village
heading toward the M6 at Junction 27. The Leyland with drawbar trailer will be heading back to
Leyland Motors not far away, and the Atkinson lorries going back to their factory near Preston.
The Atkinson flatbed lorry appears to be at an earlier date than the other two pictures because
of the road surface settings. The Atkinson further down the hill in the third picture appears to
be, judging by the headboard, one of Suttons of St Helens. Pictures 1 and 3 look like they are
from the mid 1960s, the Mini car has a B reg number plate from 1964. NMPs.
