Is that a NUN checking her oil on the Standard shooting brake ?

Hope she enjoyed her walk to the kerb after parking the car.

John

If she was in this country, she’d have been pinged for parking on the wrong side of the road.

What are the rules where you are. She’s parked in the direction of the traffic.

Durham City

Our little FG looks tight passing through there, but that was the bus route for several services heading through Durham Market place to the Bus Station on North Road, and the main road from the south heading through the market place onto Claypath on your way through to Sunderland

The Old Angel Stoney Street Nottingham

There was a pub in Kendal next the Town Hall called The Angel which was in the 60’s & 70’s the un-official “Irish Embassy” for all the Irish lads that worked for Kennedys and also on the new M6 for Laing’s & Frenches and IIRC the last Landlord was Bob Fearon who was originally from West ■■■■■■■■ a right character ! His daughter was married to one of our drivers ( who went on to marry for another 3 or 4 times lost count! ) anyway Bob buys a new 3 litre Granada in the early 70’s and his garage was down the yard behind the pub so he’s pulling it into the garage not long after taking delivery and his foot slipped onto the throttle and he stuffed into the rear wall and brought the roof of his garage down onto the car ! Oh ! and Anne and me called in for a drink at finishing time one day , me a pint of Vaux and Anne a whiskey and lemonade ! Anne says “what’s that in my drink ? looks like a key” It was in fact a Yale latch key ! So I says hey Bob what’s this all about ? so Bob comes round the bar and over to where we sitting and looks at the key in the glass and says " So that’s where I left it !" and promptly sticks his finger into the glass and rakes the key out and turned round and walks away with it !!! Hang on Bob f— knows where you’ve had your fingers but we want another clean glass with a NEW drink ! He really was a bit peeved as he didn’t think 'owt about it ! and couldn’t understand what the problem was ! I kid you not ! Cheers Bewick.

Years ago the missus and me stopped at a large pub on the York-Scarborough road and the wife noticed something in my pint of beer, I had drunk about a third of it by this time! So I went to the bar, landlord put his fingers in and fished out the nozzle from the pump. I asked for another drink and got told that as it hadn’t bothered me so far he wasn’t changing it! We left him to it. :unamused:

I’m trying to work out exactly what job that he’s doing on that 1.8 Marina.
From memory there’s no crossmember for the trolley jack to lift it there anyway so it’s anyone’s guess which point he’s using for it
Although do remember that removing/fitting the steering rack was a pig of a job on those it’s mounted to the front bulkhead and the U bolts go through it from the outside and the nuts are inside the car.So maybe that’s what he’s doing working on the steering rack.Probably jacked it on the bell housing.
