Strapping a push bike to a unit

I would like to do this have seen it done but am unsure if its safe
I worried about the trailer ripping the bike off when I put a full lock on the trailer and jack knife it
Anyone tell me the right way of doing this please
Thanks

I’m going to take mine in got a scania r highline and I’m going to use 2 ratchet straps hook through frame and tie onto roof spoiler frame then chain the wheels to the side deflectors so can’t get pinched , I pull 45ft containers so will have to turn handlebars each time and tighten/loosen

Think I’d just slide the fifth wheel back to avoid too much faff. You can strap under the trailer usually quite easily but it will get rusty quite quickly.

Bungee straps are good enough on the catwalk ratchet straps are a recipe to buckle the air deflector brackets. Make sure the pedals aren’t pressed against anything they could rub through.

Turn the handle bars and take the pedals off, should fit fine then unless you have a fridge and as said if the 5th moves back

Put it in the trailer

I take mine in the cab with me. It stands on the bed with a strap around the saddle post & passenger seat to stop it moving.

Saw a bloke on farm machinery delivery with his motorbike strapped on the trailer with the load.

if you had a Scania 141 you could strap it to the roof rack :sunglasses:

I drive a 114L and never even thought of that

First choice;Remove front wheel.
The rest of the bike should fit in the passenger seat well.Seat belt on the frame for emergency stops.
Second choice;Slide under the side guards of the trailer but it will get dirty and may fall off.
Third choice;Secure in the trailer.
Worth paying more money for a good lock.
Puncture repair kit.
Chain oil and lube spray.
Tool box.Spare tubes.
Lights and helmet.
Ideal free transport from the pub back to the lorry.

If he’s half as lucky as me, he’'ll get done for falling off under the influence.

Or drunk in charge of a two wheeled machine.

Tie it onto the grill and it will pass for a ROO BAR. Eddie.

A guy I worked with used to have a moped strapped on his cat walk with an alloy ramp to push it up,he never had a problem but them days we never had close coupled trailers

Thanks to everyone for the advice
No room in my cab allways doing trailer changes and no wind board on top of the cab so it must go on the cat walk
How far away should the 5th wheel be set back so it dose not catch the bike plz

What about getting a fold up bike, takes up less space then? You can get one for £160 in Argos, that’s not a bad price for a bike

Or

A unicycle   Would definitely fit in the cab then!

I’ve thought about getting one, how hard are they to learn to ride?

Have you put some semi-serious heat to it? Once those molecules get a bit excited, stuff usually relents and moves.
