In Belgium last week I overtook a rhd EE reg tractor unit with a uk reg on the trailer, Can’t remember the trucks previous owner, it might’ve been a roadways unit.

well, it’s not uncommon to see (or rather smell) a driver from eastern europe with a rather caotic personal hygiene regimen, but it’s rather ignorant to tar everybody with the same brush. as for flipflops, I used to wear them often, in the showers that is. I don’t walk around my hometown looking like a cloun, so I didn’t do it while working either. drove in socks, so no foot odor either
Proof is easy…just get on the SMELLY bus in Calais/Folkestone
I don’t think tar would help…
I was thinking of wearing 1 of those hats the Aussies wear but instead of corks I would use magic trees.
We know it’s not all of them but there really is no need for it…

Spent many a 9 hr or god forbid a 10 drive in the past.Flip flops, it was good ole Dms or furry clogs back then 
And yes,our Eastern european cousins have always stank imo . . perhaps its their diet or they dont use a bidet to its full potential

I dont do europe. But i drive in my slippers. Exactly same as the pair i have at home.
Flip’s all the way, why would you put your feet through the torture of sweating in boots all day? Unless of course your in and out of the cab, even then if I think I’m going to be driving any more than an hour I change me footwear!
Had to share a cabin on a tub with a fellow trucker and when he took his socks off they bolted for the door! Followed by me

Agreed - I must say Flip Flops are most comfortable footwears! you know truck is like your second home so you wear flip flops or slippers at home then you will treat truck like a home!
I know their hygienes could be bad sometime but not all time so you know some of them cannot afford to have a showers everyday in West like pay € 1.50 to €5 for shower fee. Their salaries are quite low for Western’s Standard so just imagine if you can afford to pay £5 to 7 Pounds to have a shower! you may say “oh jeez thats pricey so I will try to have a showers in 3 / 4 days a week due prices!” E E drivers feel prefer to spend on breads or save the money than spending the money on showers!
Yes but a bowl of water and some soap won’t break the bank.

Ha I remember them ! I thought I looked cool in my yellow pair. Until it rained of course then you got wet feet very quickly & they took hrs to dry.
I’ve seen em on dover-dunk stood at the wash basin having a wash and shave then swerving the shower there free don’t make sense

Dude you are the same EEan, the fact that Ilves tweets that you are the most western european country in the former soviet block dosent make you any different to the rest its just one persons point of view. And yes I know that the Baltic States are in northern europe, but most people think it aint and count us as EE, so at this point you have to set some boundaries to how many countries are in EE. Othervise you end up agreeing to the fact that you dont wash.

Or perhaps he’s just honest enough to admit some ee drivers ( note some not all ) could do with hygiene lessons. Furthermore in my experience some ee countries drivers are worse than others. Just the same as some western euro drivers are better/worse than others. For example you would be hard pushed to find a dirty Dutch man but its no problem finding a dirty Englishman ( I am one ) ! But generally a lot of ee drivers need to wash more. Wether you like it or not.
like turnip said, I don’t think idealizing eastern europe (particularly if living far away from there) is my cup of tea. many drivers stink, many of them are from eastern europe, some are from west, so what, get over it please.
