Meanwhile you’re missing out on other job opportunities and Asda have you in their back pocket should they need you and if they don’t need you in the run up to peak that’s it you’ll not get a look in till next year.

Can’t believe people are still holding out for these clowns smelt a rat at the first interview didn’t know the shifts didn’t know the start date etc etc they seem to have the opinion that they are the ambition of every driver whilst paying average wages and offering crap shifts etc there is better out there.
28 taken on so far. I’ve asked when the next batch are starting but no news sorry halewood. As BB and others have said it is worth the wait. Best job for work and conditions to date and I’ve had some good jobs in the past.

That’s your opinion but for this area I consider the basic wages discussed earlier in this post to be just that bang average , in fact I can name at least three employers within a 15 mile radius of burtonwood paying more for similar work all you have to do is look.
such a great employer yet they have left this lad hanging on a limb for 5 months with what appears to be minimum communication is indefensible, it best be the best job he’s ever had having to hang on so long for them , absolutely disgraceful way to treat potential employees even puts most agencies to shame !!! 
Then I stand corrected as I didn’t realise the Liverpool area payed such good money.
If it wasn’t for BB and lads who have started,saying its worth the wait,they’d of been legged months ago.Start in Herpes tomorrow to keep me going!

It’s a ■■■■ poor way of operating, keeping folk waiting for MONTHS for a job. Load of ■■■■■■■■.
When I go for a job interview, I expect the final part to be:
“When can you start?”
" I have to work a weeks notice, so that be (insert whatever day seven days down)"
“We’ll see you then”.
Only once didn’t work, and see where John Raymond is now…

After telling me I had the job,they said I would be starting in 4-6 weeks,this was the first week in May.
I got an email a few weeks later asking for contact details for my references.Then I got a phone call in July,telling me they would be in touch with a start date within 2 weeks.Since then nothing.Ive rung them about 20 times and had 1 proper conversation where the delay was explained.
I’d have found alternative employment by now and when/if they did ever ring agree to a start date and just not turn up.
May to October is a ■■■■ take.

Very much this^^^^^^. I don’t for one minute believe that this particular fiasco is indicative of Asda in general, more this particular depot and its “promoted beyond their ability” management. So I too would have walked away much earlier and to really stick it to them would do all my shopping at a different retailer.
