Straight to c+e restrictions/criterea

what is the criterea for getting the full blown c+e now. do you have to of driven a car for a certain period or is there an age restriction. I guess im wonderingif someone can pass thier car test 1 week and jump into a lorry the next.

I was wondering as the other day i was behind a learner car with instructor and pupil that on a rounderbout managed to clip the inside kerb of the rounderbout and then mout the pavement on the exit promptly turning left onto the m20 so obviously passed his test. Young lad in the driver seat with i assume an instructor in the passenger seat.

No, for a variety of reasons.

First you need to get your B entitlement, get your licence back from DVLA ( :unamused: ) then have the C/C+E provisional added, which requires a D4 medical. Then you need to do your Theory (modules 1a, 1b and 2), then you can jump in a lorry.

Plus, don’t forget the truck trainer will see how inexperienced you are (from the dates on your licence) and would most likely insist on an assessment drive first.

And… in purely practical terms, there’s a waiting list to get into the vehicles and waiting list for tests, so your training and test dates will be linked, and be subject to the vagaries of DVSA :unamused:

Learner car drivers are now allowed to drive on motorways, in fact they have to as part of their lessons and test

Yes learners are allowed on motorways now, but it’s not part of the test, because some areas of the country don’t have motorways.
Isn’t it 17 to pass your B test but 18 for C+ E?
