Stoneridge tachograph won't eject card

One of my colleagues couldn’t eject his card tonight. It’s an old type Stoneridge (Rev 6) digital unit in a 2008 truck, it could change mode, do prinitouts etc, but neither mode button would eject his card or the empty tray 2.

My boss reckons it might have been caused by a flat battery last night, which was jump started, and would have caused a “power supply interruption” error, but it has been working fine during the fay and the battery remained charged since then.
Neither local dealer who can do tacho work were able to look at it tonight, so it looks like it will need to be used tomorrow - and to further complicate things due to vehicle sizes needed for runs, by a different driver.

Has anyone ever had this happen before on a Stoneridge?

Pull the card. A gallon of diesel and a box of matches.Problem sorted.

Sometimes happens if you press it too many times. A few minutes rolling a cig and trying again usually resolves the issue

If all fails, printout wins everytime.

Start simple, was the ignition on?

Tell him to eject his card from slot 2

Had it happen on a Scania once I think somebody interrupted the power supply and then it came out ok. I think this one had had Batt problems during the day.

Thought there was a pin hole to manually open the drawer incase of this sort of thing

That was the first thing I asked him when he asked me why it wouldn’t eject, then I checked and tried myself.

It’s not ejecting either tray when holding the 1 or 2 buttons.

stoneridge has a simple mechanical lock…if you remove the tacho and bang the corner it will pop open…as it was demonstrated y the stoneridge guy

Large hammer and screwdriver will always remove your card
