Stonebridge tacho

I did two hours drive on paper tacho then had 15 min break. Then swapped to digi tacho vehicle and drove 2 hours. Only need 30 min break, but cos digi tacho didnt know about paper tacho it had to be 45 min break. Anyone know how to fix this?

It didn’t have to be a 45, you could have just taken 30 and cracked on ignoring the flashing warning on the digi. It wouldn’t come up as an infringement.

Sorry I meant I did 2 hours drive on paper, 15 minute break, 2 hours drive on digi (could have had 30 min break but had to have 45) then 2 hours drive on digi.

Could have got away with no break at all on digi, but legally would have needed 45 min break somewhere.

Can I program digi tacho to say I had already driven and had a 15 min break on paper tacho?

On a Siemens you could have done a manual entry for the 15 minute break but you cant do manual entry for drive. Stonebridge tachos should be destroyed from planet earth and the designer shot in the head!

Siemans for the win :grimacing:

Yeah how ■■■■ are they? Can’t even eject properly. Just some ■■■■ bit of plastic that flops out.

So basically paper and digi tachos dont mix well and the digi tacho programmers overlooked this.

No you didn’t have to have 45, you had already taken 15 so only required 30 minutes. You just ignore the break required warning on the digi.

Yeah legally you couldn’t have got away with no break on the digi as you would then have done 6 hours driving with only a 15 minute break.

No, you cannot make a manual entry for driving and just doing a manual entry for the 15 minute break wouldn’t work as it would be before any driving on the digi.

It really isn’t a big issue, just take the breaks as normal and ignore any break warnings on the digi. When your full day is analysed it won’t throw up an infringement, provided you have recorded the 15 minute break on the chart, either normally or by a manual entry or recorded it on the digi.

Wouldn’t have made any difference to the situation. The digi wouldn’t recognise it as a driving break because as far as it was concerned it was before any driving was done.

Coffee you old dog i didn’t even think of that

I guessed as much, see my last post. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

But according to that you only did 4 hours in total on digi anyhow so surely no warnings should have popped up anyway

That’s what has been confusing me with the comment he ‘had to have 45’.

Indeed, but it wouldn’t have been … wait … Yes I could have just had a 30 min and stayed legal and the digi tacho would have been none the wiser. It had been a long day with a bad choice of parking and no sleep overnight.

I remember now.

2 hours drive on paper
15 min break
change vehicle
2 hours drive on digi
45 min break, but should have been 30 mins
15 min drive
30 mins other work
2 hours drive
10 mins other work
1.5 hours drive home

So yes the digi tacho would have been flashing warnings had I not had 45 minute break, but in reality I only needed a 30 min. Sorry, should have been clearer. Forgot about the extra drive to docks and heathrow. Normally I would have just gone home from depot.
