Hahaha!!! I don’t do fishing but I’ve got one hell of a bite here!!
@stevenyounglad021 no you put me on your ignore list please I like what some of you planks’ post on here it’s the only thing that give’s me a belly laugh these day’s. Bit sad I know but that’s the way it is and it work’s for me
Anyway I’ve got something for you planker’s, that’s stevenyounglad021, Fbb11 and sillymonkey1999 now which one of you is going say this is doable. Come on fella’s don’t be shy I’m sure there is a least one of you who will say they can do it whatever anyone says
menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening … r-24-hours
Now just so you don’t judge me as being unfair or telling fibs, no it wasn’t me, it does look like it has got a UK reg plate at the back, and it is about 3.5kms from the turning that this thread was started about. My point is to highlight that in this area maximum length vehicle’s are not catered for or welcome as Fbb11 will find out when he venture’s North to prove us all wrong and then empties his wallet, bank account and any other cash or credit he may be able to obtain to cover the recovery & brekkie’s he is going to have to pay for
Once again I have to refer to you all as plank’s I just can’t resist
Kindest Regards to all my detractors (I hope that is a word you all understand? If not just google it, no not street view yer plank)
Dave Penn;
Ftr I didn’t make that diagram.
Dave, no offence but but the guys your arguing with are coming across to me a least in mild humour despite the fact you continually insult them, can’t you just agree to disagree ■■
As I posted earlier, whilst the pics make it all look this way and that it is a whole different thing with your feet on the ground etc, pretty sure from what I see of the pics I wouldn’t attempt either a turn or a 180, but then I can’t afford not to get asked back for making a bone head of myself.
Now peace eh Dave, courtesy costs nothing eh

@Fbb11, Is that what you think, well just like your driving career you are a newbie at this game as well I think you have made a bigger fool of yourself than I have. You are the one that SHOUTED that you could do it and also do the turn on moomooland’s post with pic’s of the Swain truck in Rawtenstall and you also got another couple of young fella’s feeling sorry for you coz I was being a bit hard on you. I just put up the challenge, not that you would ever turn up if I arranged it, but if any of your followers want to take up the challenge it is open to them and can be arranged. It does appear that you are a legend in yer own head and long may it stay that way I like fishing and I just reeled in at least three bits of driftwood and oh how we laughed Yer Planks
Regards
Dave Penn;
WOW, how off topic and all macho this has gone. “We’ve had bigger than that down here Drive.”

I’m not arguing with them if the discussion upset’s people then those people don’t have to look at the thread. I’m only doing what the other poster’s are doing, fighting my corner, and that’s it.
I find it strange that you think I need to exercise courtesy when I didn’t start the abusive post’s I just responded to unnecessary and unwarranted criticism and I will give as good as I get.
Regards
Dave Penn;
Your facts and corner fighting are something I happen to agree with, it’s the un-necessary name calling which is making you look the oaf ■■?
Maybe the lads will gladly come and have a go if you arrange some nice policemen with chalk to define the boundary and close the road either end for 24hrs, plus supply them with their home numbers so they can come back out and re chalk the lines when they run out.

Im not trying to be the big man or saying I’m the best driver in the country (even though I know i am) but am I the only one that thinks thats not even tight?? You could even spin it around if he wanted to go back the way he was coming from.
Such a bad bad rookie car driver in a lorry mistake to make.
with know all’s like this on our roads is it any wonder that recovery firms remain in demand!
some folk will argue that black is white, mind with many years vast experience mr boy11 will be able to prove all the locals wrong if he ever makes the trip north

LOL!!! I don’t think I’ve made a fool out of myself at all. All I said was I think I can spin a truck around in a space that you say can’t be done… I’m failing to see what the big deal is?
And it is getting to you, Wayne and others say it can’t be done and no matter what they think of me they have disagreed and left it at that but your taking it personally for some reason, are you scared that I’m going to prove you wrong just because you couldn’t do it in the 70’s??
@phantom mark, point taken and will act upon your suggestion after this last post, Thank you.
@Montmerency, no I’m not arguing with these planks just giving them the same abuse back as they can give to me without recourse.
You might call it arguing I call it responding robustly
@Fbb11
No I don’t think, I KNOW I could. It’s a piece of ■■■■ with loads of room!!! You would have to drive on the wrong side of the road and turn left into it then back out but there is plenty of room to get the unit round in that side turn.
This is post by you from page 2 of this thread and as we all know using capitals indicates shouting. So I deduce from this post that you didn’t just say you thought you could do it you were shouting ‘I KNOW’ I could do it You can change your story all you like but this is what you said and all I did pull you up on that assertion because I know, as do quite a number of other poster’s, that it cannot be done with a 60ft articulated outfit but you seemed to get some weird buzz out of saying of course you can do it. You contradicted yourself more than once in this thread so yes I think you have made a fool of yourself but you’ll live and carry doing what your doing, making things up about drops and places you’ve never even been to. It wouldn’t surprise me if this becomes one of the next RDC waiting room MMTM myths that we hear so much about. There are already some on this thread who believe your BS but that’s completely up to them maybe they haven’t read the whole thread but who cares I know I don’t.
If I’ve upset or offended you in any way I apologise but it was purely intentional just like you and your followers felt the need to disrespect and make abusive post’s to me.Regards

Once again, some bright spark thinks it’s a good idea to pull the pin.
If he’d have called for professional recovery, they would have just winched the back of the trailer around.
Base to base, maybe an hour/hour and a half - £150.
And the trailer wouldn’t have been damaged doing it.
9 times out of 10, pulling the pin is the worst thing to do.I cannot see a problem with reversing that one out, it looks like he has taken a post out with the offside front but with all those men around as eyes and road blocks, that should have come out of there the same way it went in
Trailer would be twisting the unit, the 5th wheel ain’t made to twist sideways.
If the unit’s got a difflock it might drive out, but without I suspect the nearside drive wheels would lose traction.
Our area for North Yorks Police includes Sutton Bank. When trucks get stuck on there this is the usual cause, not getting stuck on the actual hill, rather losing traction on the hairpin.

Well if you don’t know the difference between thinking and knowing it only goes to show the deficiencies in our education system It’s like not knowing the difference between right and wrong
If this is how you use your thinking skills in the course of your daily driving you come across as an arrogant stereotypical new breed of truck driver and shouldn’t be trusted with anything bigger than a wheelbarrow.
That’s it for me now your last post has shown I was fully justified in calling you a plank and your a very thick one at that.
Keep listening to yerself and don’t forget to take yer meds.

I’ve tried driving a fully loaded wheel barrow, every time I try to make a turn i end up tipping half the load out so I think your probably right
And I think your probably the stereotypical old hand truck driver that’s been there and done it and no can do it better.
Yes the deficiencies in our education system are bad these days aren’t they… Oh and it’s “you’re a plank” not “your a plank”
■■■■ educating system not what it used to be.
Hiya do you think if the driver raised the airbags right up, the wheels would come down and
come in contact with the road enough to give some traction. its to late now because it,ll had
been moved. I,ve been driving past that turning for years, it was the main route before the m62
was open. please belive me theres no room at all to get round that turn.unless a rear steer bogie.
with some knowhow theres plenty of places to turn round to get down that road, why i,ll never
know, its a case of been lost panicing and relying on electronic gadgets.
when drivers could,nt read they would ask. now they can read they play with eloctronics
that konw nowt,
Hiya John, Maybe if you disconnected the OS airbag and blanked the pipe off, so the OS was on it’s bump stops and the NS was lifted up. That could level the unit enough to get traction on the NS wheel.
But as I said above, a winch out probably wouldn’t cost more than £150.
You can see in the photo’s that forklift is doing handstands, clearly well overloaded. Thats when things go wrong.

what about unit up and trailer down? if there’s enough angle you can get rid of most of the scrubbing force
and on the dropping part, if the unit was lifted to the top, then legs just off the ground he should of been able to get all of the weight off the unit whilst it was still under the trailer so no forklift needed
It’s just with the angle of that trailer, you’d never get the trailer horizontal, so there’ll always be some twisting force on the unit. If it was a flat hairpin with no hill involved then yeah, it should drive out.
