Stobart or Evri?

I’ve been at Evri on class 2 for 3 months now on nights. I’ve just been offered a class 1 driving assessment at Stobart. I haven’t drove a class 1 since passing and dont know whether to leave my current job or not. Has anyone worked for Stobart before? And if so whats it like? I’ll be working nights there if I decide to give it a go.

Cannot speek for Evri ? But we all know Stobarts have Clowns operating the show lol.

Neither  . Completely different work so decide what you want.

Surely asking whether working for Evri or Stobarts is better is akin to asking which testicle you would like removed first. :joy:

On a serious note to the OP, never worked for either but if class 1 is what you want to do and it’s the only way in then take it, get some experience and move on at a later date.

I work for evri. It’s not a perfect job but is fine for me. They should progress you if you ask for it

Do you do the waves? And are you in a class 1 or 2?

I’ve just spent a year at Evri Barnsley on agency but I’m guessing your employed by them and they won’t give you a chance on class 1?

On agency it’s easy to jump on to class 1 from 2 but I came across employed drivers from Sheffield depot that were told they’d get a chance to move up to class 1 but then got fed up because it never happened.

Regarding difference. They’ll be similar because of the large corporate approach to how they run things but as for the actual job it’ll depend on which depot or contract you’ll be on at cullina/stobart. They run so many different jobs they vary.

Yeah I’m employed on class 2 but i would like to move up. I just dont know how long this will take.

The driver I knew got fed up of waiting so left and jumped across to the Barnsley end on agency so he could get some class 1 experience. Easy for him because at the time we were all based on same site but if your in a small Evri depot thats not near a super hub it’s not an easy option for you is it.

I’ve been retired a long time now.As an agency driver i used to refuse to work for Stobart.

If you want to do class 1 as that’s what you paid for then I say go for it. IMO take any negative opinions of a company with a pinch of salt. I would never have accepted the position at my place if I’d listen to everyone. I love it but sooo many loath what I’ve chosen to do.
Not Southampton is it?

No I’m from Manchester, so its the Warrington depot.
