I’m now on the Portsmouth Caen route instead.

trip to boots for some tablets tomorrow I think.

I have got one of Ports > Santander tonight and 3 on the Immingham to Brevik ( Norway) on Sunday… Hope they not too sea sick !!!

Short hop, Dover/Calais for me.

Lie in the bunk with the curtains closed. Its an eye related thing .The less you see the better off you are. Oh’, & stay off the booze?

I’ll be on pompy caen sunday morning and back monday night i think. I’ll be paying extra for my own cabin cos the last time it was rough my cabin mate spewed and ■■■■■■ everywhere. ■■■■ that again.

2200 sun night for me.

I get sea sick bad. Some say have a proper meal before getting on the ship so if you are sick you are not puking stomach acid.
Get on bunk and relax.
I can not see the Pompey ship going out if the weather is that bad.
Ships have been known to sit a mile from the port unable to get on the dock due to wind.
If take sea sick pills they make you drowsy for driving. If i was on the Ouistreham sailing i would sleep in the cab below deck.
When boarding pull the split curtain over and when nobody is looking hop on the bunk.
Being lower down prevents being ill.

A few lads on the ZB-Calais/Dover run have come serious cropper doing that. Boats & trucks falling over. I used to do it on the ZB home run to avoid all the circus upstairs but I soon packed it in after the disaster.

Got 1 on the Eurotunnel sunday does that count

been told to expect long delays from sunday ? brother inlaw works on train and he said they,re overwhelmed with pre bookings since bad weather forcast …

a few people came a cropper on deck aswell so I don’t think it matters where you travel if it goes down it goes down and best of luck…

I do not think any ferries will be crossing the channel when this mother of a storm is coming, did you see the George Clooney film, The perfect storm. He ended up a cropper.
All the container ports will shut down, operation stack at the ports, bring a book and pack the Pot Noodle.
Expect numerous accidents on all roads, trees fallling and so on, bins blown over in the streets too.
I had to buy extra strong glue for my new toupee wig, cost me £2200, so a £1 for a pot of glue is an investment in this bad weather.

Amazingly ive been to 2 chemists that had sold out of travel tablets :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Go sick for a week, JD?

We’ve all been asked to go on the train at midnight sun/mon to try and avoid all the hassle.Does anyone know how long this storm is supposed to be with us for?

Sunday night and Monday according to the BBC weather.

I love the post " I hang my washing out in that and use a couple of extra pegs.

Btw I got onto the ferry, waited for all the announcements to finish and went to sleep and hardly felt a thing.

Polish sailor’s saying says “eat Kisiel, easy in, easy out, both ways tastes the same”. I follow that advice when I expect such situation and it is indeed good stomach filler. Can’t confirm the bit about it tasting the same when coming back, as never needed to puke when ate this :grimacing: . You can have it in biggest tescos from the Polish shelves, it costs about 40p per sashet (looking like this: oetker.pl/fileadmin/content/ … relowy.jpg) it’s kind of jelly, you just pour hot water over the powder, stir it, leave it to cool down a bit and its completely acceptable to eat:

Not just the big stores Orys. There are many small independant Polish shops in all towns in the Uk.
I will try what you have posted.
