Still moving on

Its two weeks into the upgrade process, the forums still has a few bugs, but nothing major that hopefully) will be relatively quick to sort out.

Today we took the next step, everything on the website except the forums were taken off the website, including the old front page. For now we have as a front page a Landing Page on Roadtransport.com. This has the latest transport news relating to driver issues, and drivers jobs posted on RT.coms jobs database.

It also has a sub page where drivers can advertise themselves as available for work, remember Roadtransport.com where this is hosted is the major website for transport managers and fleet owners, if your ad is going to be seen anywhere on the web by those looking for drivers it will be there, and its FREE :grimacing: Soon the landing page will have a feed showing the latest posts from here.

There are a number of other features that we wil be adding over the coming weeks.

A complete new Content management system is being implemented on RBI servers, Once this is in place we will be rebuilding our own content totally under the TruckNet UK name. The Insider content is saved and we are looking at the best platform to host this on that will allow the CM and Truck & Driver team to add content in the future.

This is not the end of the upgrade process, We have been planning this for many months and this is only the next stage of us building the new improved website for Truck drivers. We are one of the few titles anywhere getting investment at this time that in itself shows RBI’s confidence in the title…

Roger Williams, Publishing Director, Road Transport Group, Reed Business Information:
“TruckNet UK is the number one website for truck drivers in the UK and everyone involved with the site is determined it stays that way. You don’t need me to remind you there’s a financial storm raging in the wider economy but despite these external factors, we remain focussed on our core activities - producing magazines and websites for the Road Transport industry. That’s why we’re investing in TruckNetUK now, to ensure the site has a stable platform enabling us to continue the growth of the site and offer all members of the truck driving community the best place to come and network.”

Things will not happen overnight, but it is happening. in the mean time please be a little patient, Good things come to those who wait :grimacing:

have some misgiveings however the change
is for the best and as it was pointed out
it was long over due, well done to all
