Stibbington Diner, Stibbington

I have to make a delivery to Fife in August and reckon that Stibbington Diner at Stibbington is about right to eat and sleep after leaving the boat at Newhaven at around 4pm.

Is it still in operation, are there parking charges and if so only for non-diners? Drivers in this country (France) who never go to the UK are amazed that the system of paid parking exists for paying customers (here the larger routiers have a system of free parking for diners only, which is fair enough given the advantage often previously taken by ‘trailer diners’) and I will never pay when already eating at an establishment.

I will repeat this post under the heading ‘Kate’s Cabin’ so apologies for the duplication.

I may not have the time, but if so, is there a parking charge there?

yes but cant remember the price, they also charge at stibbington too

Thanks mate, I thought at least the old time caffs would not have jumped on the service area bandwagon, but it seems I was wrong. The last time in England I found a Tesco near Cambridge and parked up there, but it looks like I’ll have to add parking fees to quotes in the future.

Fortunately I quoted for this before knowing the ferry charge so have enough over and above to cover it.

At least at Grantshouse, where I am hoping to stop on the way back, they are happy to serve good grub for an honest return - and no parking charge.
