Johnnytruckfest, was at a place yesterday to collect a flat deck, in the workshop was a black W900, just had a new bunk put on owing to a jack Knife, frame had all been sand blasted and painted and they were just putting the fuel tanks on, sorry i had no camera with me, do you live near northampton, mate of mine has a smart looking aerodyne there.
I Live in knottingley which if you are unsure of is near wakefield. Which I do believe is quite a long distance from northampton, especially when you don’t have a car or a license for that matter

This one was seen in another pic, but the 78 ford behind it has a story, it was once owned by an an english guy here, ( sadly passed away now ) we had it as a tractor unit then converted it for liquid fertilizer, last spring i was taking it to the drill in the field ( by the way it had a 350 ■■■■■■■ ) now some of you may know or have heard from older drivers how an engine can over run if the governer in the fuel pump quits, beleive me this is true, it started to over rev and just kept going, as the pump is in overdrive and the engine in self destruct mode you can’t just simply turn the key off as it does nothing, i lifted the hood with the hope of pulling wires off the pump… still revs higher and higher, try to find bit of ply wood or something to starve it of air, none handy, no fuel shut off, look for something to pull fuel lines off…nothing, by now black smoke 30 foot in the air, old ■■■■■■■ sounding more like concord, BANG then she is silent with a rod through the block, she has since had a transplant , and due to be started this week after standing outside all winter.
Thanks for posting that if I had told them something like that happens they would not have believed me. Have an interesting read for you its an ebook on the history of ■■■■■■■■■
books.google.com/books?id=JeS-rG … &q&f=false
Goes from the start of the companies history through the labor problems of the 30’s up to the late 1980’s
Self distruction is more common in the old 653, and 671 line engines the old screeming jimmy’s unlike the ■■■■■■■■ they were 2 stoke and had really poor govenors for a while. The V’s or rocky mountain hummingbirds didnt have the same problems with self distructions. I have been told but it is just trucker chatter that this was because of the shorter stroke on the V’s and differences in the air fuel due to the shorter stroke. Havent found anything in writting that backs that up though.

I like the W9, don’t get me wrong, especially with an 84" studio bunk, but next to a 379 they’re not quite in the same league, the lines of the Pete are so much cleaner
Cabover’s now that’s different I would have a K100 Aerodyne over anything else because of the extra cab space, but even then, the 362 Peterbilt is the better looking truck
Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy Mack’s are ok as dustcarts or a gravel truck, that’s it though
I guess that proves NMM has no taste best looking trucks the International Lonestar, and the VOLVO.

yup another Hank Struck collection of Pics
How since NMM has me on ignore he is going to miss seeing this
How those are NICE rides. As for cabbyovers the ones here in North America are ■■■■ mud ugly and look like someone ran a truck into a brick wall. Look like boxes on wheels.
Nice oldie, KW cabover at the winnipeg truck show, who was driving the BF KW,? it was entered in the show, had union jack stickers but never saw the driver.
Peterbilt 379 hood with hail damage, for anyone who has not been in a hail storm these dents are caused by hail, the truck was an insurance write off and we was looking to buy it for salvage bit was out bidded also a funny story to this, the truck was in the salvage yard, keys were taken out, boss has some old keys back at his truck ( parked a little bit away ) he goes off to get them, i should add that we want to hear it running but they don’t let you start em if there for salvage, ( fear of more damage etc ) anyway i has a think, quickly take grub screws out and pull out dash panel, burnt out truck parked next to me has lots of hanging wires…pull one off and jump the ignition and hey presto we have power, push the button and the series 60 detroit fired straight up boss walks back…how did you do that he asked… well you have to have a few tricks up your sleeve dunt ya
Series 60 Detroit Engine with some chrome in need of some elbow grease
This is what happens when a driveruns whithout a bug screen in summer. a/c rad fins get clogged, air to air rad gets clogged, coolant rad gets clogged, little air gets through for cooling, engine runs too hot, driver phones to complain because truck is running too hot, erm hello!!
One that did’nt make it back alive! this one was put on her side in saskatchewan, nice summers day, good roads, middle of the day on a monday after a weekend break, driver was reaching down for something and caught the gravel shoulder and flipped it! we brought it back of the insurance co. for spares.
Please boss will you buy me this wrecker…no make do with your homemade one

Dont see any problem with that one kind of it look better added some character to an otherwise ugly truck style.
you can’t blame me for asking can you
Doing a tow job with a shiny one

My favourite at the show was this B61 model mack
There is a fellow of Kijiji who has one of those for sale with a spare parts truck, apparently the one is running. If you are looking of a fixer upper in your spare time looks like it may be interesting.
