My Premium has managed to wipe all the tread off the inside edge of a brand new steer axle tyre in about 26000km so I’m guessing something is a bit out of line in the steering.
Has anyone got any experience of Steertrak (website here). Alternatively can anyone recommend anyone else who will provide a similar service? Any idea what sort of price I would be looking at?
i,ve used them a couple of times in the past, when i needed my steering setup sorting they came recommended by everyone , think they work on a franchise basis so you ring the main number and they put you in touch with the local man, think i paid 120 for a full alingment about 18 months ago
there is a lad in barnsley what does it repton, sorry i dont know his number tho he used to work for steertrack before he set up himself,

It’s a Taurus 2000 or something like that. The previous owner put a pair brand new on the steer axle just before I bought it. My plan is to get it tracked up and then the near new Bridgestones on the lift axle can go on the steer and the scrubbed off steer axle tyres will be recut and put on the lift axle.
before you spend money on tracking just make sure no wear in any bushes or steering joints first if so get them sorted first then get it tracked .or you could be paying for tracking twice

Taurus Top 2000? i find them a very good tyre, made by michelin as well
dont waste your time with ats as they will happily make an appointment for you to get it done and then when you turn up at ATS the steertrak van is parked outside
Steertrak came today. It was miles out, it’s not been sorted and the improvement in handling was instantly noticeable. Hopefully if it was that far out I’ll use a bit less fuel now too. The chap who came out seemed really good and I would definitely use them again.
For checking and adjusting the steer axle and checking the lift axle (didn’t need adjustment) it was 115+vat. I don’t think that’s bad value considering he came all the way from Keighley to Pocklington and spent about 1.5h working on it.

I had a daf afew years ago and after the
tracking was done the fuel consuption improved so much the cost was
recovered in three months. Ive just had a new trackrod fitted
and called steertrak in to re-calibrate my tracking.I consider it
money well spent.
