this week ive parked here twice, monday no problem wander to the hotel to get my vingnette all is good. last night i stopped there and the young girl was doing my vingnette when the manager ( a women ) came in in a right mood, she asked if i wanted something from the bar area and i politely " no just my vingette ", she then got all stroppy and said the machine was broken the girl doing my vingnette said " no its ok and working " and the manager shot her a real dirty look and said " no its not its broken ".
so i left it at that wander back to the lorry and got my tax at the lille border instead.
also i was chatting to another english driver who said there has been immigrants caught there on recent weeks so take care.

Or get at the last services before steenvoorde junction 13 ,Carrefour I think!!
That towards Lille on the A25 , or heading towards Dunkerque , ive had a 11hr @ the services on the north facing side, without issues, but it is clandestine territory, So make sure you check everywhere before you move off , there used to be a garage that sold english cigs at beligie prices just past the old border post , i doubt it’s still there now though,

Towards Lille on A25, never had any problems, that garage at the border is still there don’t use it myself but seems busy!!
just a point for those that don’t know.
it’s only 33 euros for 7 days, so if you’re nipping in and out of the benalux area for 4 days or more, then it’s worth getting 7 days worth of tax. ages.de/index.jsp?sItem=201&lng=31&cnt=37
Steenvoorde is very popular with the Brits and quite a few drivers have recommended it to plus you can do it in your ferry rest off the Dunkirk boat.
The fuel garages are on the French side with Belgium prices and there is a couple of cigs shops with Belgium prices, so if your coming up from Lille area you can top up your tanks and get your baccy without paying Belgium tax.

Because of its popularity that was the reason for the Politie to hover around the border. And they were quite polite as they raided our multi compartment chained wallets, so successful were they that they gained a large surplus.

I always use the shell card for tolls as it seems acceptable all over.
you could stop off and get a liber-t box. just stop at a main peage and go in with your vehicle docs and they’ll take payment from your fuel card. it’ll save a lot of time in the long run.
other than that, get your boss to do it online.
i know the thread isn’t about france as such, but i thought it might be handy.
