Static Caravan Disposal

I have a static caravan in Bedfordshire, that needs to be disposed of. Good access for loading etc…

Any idea’s on people that would / could do this? Happy for someone to take the thing away for free if they want it!!

put it on facebook, marketplace . one of the scrap boys will hear of your ad or someone who wants to live in it on a site

you will most likely need t pay to have it removed…too big,and too much bother to be worthwhile for scrap.
gumtree and faceache in case someones looking is your best bet…the scrappys wont see the value in it…alternatively…■■?

Place an add on freebie section of gumtree or put it on Freecycle. As somebody will maybe want it if it’s free

This ,don’t forget its November 5 th coming up so chuck some old tyres and engine oil in and some tachos to light it with :sunglasses:

rent it out as a haulage office for two weeks and the resulting fire will have unfortunately destroyed all the paper tachos and computer files as they forgot to back them up

for best results, make sure the place erupts on a bank holiday weekend, xmas or new years eve,or a saturday night if time critical.
thats how its worked in the past.

Going to have to pay to have it taken away as dieseldog said. The country is flooded with them, thousands of them added onto the used market every year as they become too old to be allowed on sites. Nobody wants them and they’re worth naff all as scrap because of how much effort it takes to dismantle them.

I seem to remember seeing some on the M6 stuffed in curtainside trailers, with the curtains tied back because the caravan were 10’ wide. On foreign trucks as I remember ? Somebody must have a use for them ?

I know this is a bit vauge probably no hope

But about 6 months ago I was down near some docks Dartford Essex area I think. Wasn’t the main docks as such.
Anyway place I went there was 1000s of static caravans there . Was watching them all being loading stacked 4 5 high onto a ship.
Was talking to fella he said we export them.to eastern Europe there’s a huge market over there.
I can’t rember name of place I went to though sorry

years back i saw a static being towed behind a tractor on the A12

Depends how decrepit but someone building a house might want temporary accommodation. Try Gumtree.

There’s a place just off the A17 can’t remember if it’s Swineshead bridge or Fosdyke, that’s full of em, the sign on the fence says free caravans enquire within

Some sites have a 4 year age limit, some have a 15 year limit, some dont care if they are still looking tidy, a bloke near me refurbishes them but anything over about 10 years are generally too knackered to move. The wheels and tyres are probably worth more than the chassis, the cooker/fridge/boiler have a resale value.

Any roadworks nearby? Perhaps one of them can help -

You can then scoop it up, dig a hole in the ground and bury it.

A few years ago I watched a banger race caravan special, someone turned up with one for the race. Everyone else had standard wobble boxes and this thing lasted about half a lap (not that the other fared much better)

Was one of the best races I ever went to, absolute legend.

i did mobile homes years ago , i dropped an old 40 footer off at one place and they were going to build a house in front of it , so i asked , hows it coming out?, we’re going to lift over the rear fence with a crane , i heard it folded up and ended in several skips. i picked one up at monks in milton keynes to go to gatwick , it came off the trailer and straight onto a bonfire.
