David DeHavilland:

Pete S:

Hi Pete, I am having difficulty booking my C+E Training, is you firm also fully booked up?

I think you might get a CE course in February.

Call 01623 555661 office hours to find out for sure. What area are you in?

Pete S

Hi Pete, thanks for getting back, I’m in Barnsley, they did get back to me, the earliest they can do is March so I am trying to find something sooner.

Hi David

I don’t know if you saw my post, but I’ve just done car to CE with Euro-Mark Training of Dodworth - Paul Franks was my trainer and he is great. He is so close to you it might be worth a phone call? Though I think he may be booking April now… I was lucky and got a cancellation.

I can only quote PSTT rates. These are without taking Trucknet discount into consideration and include 3a test and 3b test. VAT included also.

CAT C £1500 14hrs
CE from car £2750 30hrs

So there’s £1250 difference for a course that is more than twice as long and utilises a truck that is considerably more expensive to operate ie full size artic as opposed to a 12 tonne rigid.

I also recommend Pass Protection at £395. This covers 3 retests on 3a and retests on 3b. In other words, as close to a guaranteed pass as possible.

A lot of effort has gone into designing a course that is going to produce results, is enjoyable and is as cost effective as possible.

As normal, all driving tests are run from the PSTT private test centre (the 1st in the UK) and, of course, 3a tests are conducted by one of the TEN qualified examiners on staff. And Mod 4 has been done inhouse for years now.

Yes, there’s a bit of a wait at the moment. But good things are worth waiting for!

Pete S

Pete, how much is it for Cat C+E for currently Cat C license holders? I’m sure you’ve mentioned it recently but I can’t find the post.

katten, how long did it take as a matter of interest (hours in Truck) and if you wouldn’t mind saying the approximate cost?

A CE course for a current C or D licence holder is £1800 taking into account the Trucknet discount and including 3a and 3b test fees.

As always, pass protection is recommended.

And there is free accommodation if you live more than 70 miles from NG17 3FW.

Hope this helps, Pete
