In my view a lot of the problem with trailers being dropped is down to the DVSA and the lack of info in the driving test.

Given that you have to uncouple and couple up a trailer in the driving test, how do you come to that conclusion?

Very true, but the DVSA lets the candidate chose the type of vehicle they take the lest in, when I passed in an artic, I could drive a wagon and drag, yet I wouldn’t have a clue how on earth to couple up properly (I probably would have figured it out, but the point is you are not showing you know how to do it).

and thats why im moving my trucks a way from the company that starts with K, they told me my truck went through the test without any problems been asking for the pg14 since december,

so i called in for it some women there copied it for me low and behold it had failed the test loose bolt :open_mouth: and these muppets are looking after my trucks and i pay for a pre test inspection the works,

you should have heard the wife firing all [zb] in to them lol over the phone, i dont play well with others when im peed off so i have to leave it to her :imp: :imp:

That is naughty, especially when things like MOT Failures go negatively towards your O-Licence (OCRS)

this is where its wrong to go on my o’licence, if i was doing everything myshelf then yes thats fine, but when im paying for full r&m that shouldnt go on my o’licence as im putting my trust it to a so call good deal as when every anything is wrong i get it put right, how wrong can i be thank ■■■ ive finished with them at the end of feb :imp:

and the other thing its been going into them for the last 12 months, noty once have they picked up on some of the things it wanted for the test, told them it was in for inspection 4 weeks for the test why wasnt any of these jobs picked up then, i run above test standard not below or at the same standard, in 2 minds to go to CM mag about it

Its not wrong to go on your O license - you may contract it out but it is still your responsibility to ensure that your contractor is doing everything you are paying for and keeping your vehicles legal.

It’s about your management of them and if they fail so do you! If they breach the contract then sue them and find another supplier - that’s your prerogative but ultimately, ignorance of non compliance is no excuse, it just tells the authorities that you have fallen down on your part.

However, by acting you can show that you have managed a bad situation and put into place a resolution to a serious problem.

Just an opinion!

If you had the mechanical know how to know they weren’t doing the R&M correctly then the likelyhood is you wouldn’t be using them at all. People with no knowledge of mechanics who pay for a service which they don’t recieve shouldn’t be penalised for trusting a reputable company.

yes i know but, i can only go off what im told,

i have some know how but i dont have anywhere to work on the trucks, when thinks started getting iffy i took it somewhere else for them to check over

any jobs i do myself get signed off

I know what you mean but I was only trying to be like the authorities in that there is no excuse in saying you didn’t know. Ditch 'em!
