Advice based on using a Dennison splitter:
Always split trailer on level ground.
Splitter trailers require lots of air so best keep the engine running.

Taken from the maritime transport trailer weight matrix.
Front container must not exceed 13t gross.
Rear container must not exceed 18t gross.
Total trailer weight must not exceed 29t gross.
Rear container must not be more than 10t greater than he front.

Surely?..

The people you drive for will show you how things are done?

I’ve moved them a few times but never had to split one so, I can’t advise.

I found this on Ytube youtube.com/watch?v=Szu5kzo3GyI

Now I know the Polish for ‘sodding landing legs are stiff’.

Put your 1st job on the back end and your 2nd box on the front, saves a little bit of faffing if you get them tipped on the same site.

Watch your weights if you have a 40 or 45 on, the tare on the trailer is an extra 2 or 3 ton.

Main thing is making sure you are on level ground, loading bays where you back down a ramp aren’t ideal for splitting. Then it’s making sure you are well aware of your weights because it’s easy to come a cropper and overload either your front or rear axles, the firm your driving for should have a matrix they can give you for reference.

Got to say, the firm your working for should be covering all this with you before chucking your out…

They did, I just wanted to know if there was any other tips for using them. First day has gone ok, can’t say it was completely straight forward, but ok.
