Split weekly rest, tell me more

There seems to be a concensus of opinion here that if you have a weekly rest of say 90 hours then you can split it. I.E 45 hours will count for one week and then next 45 hours will count for the next week. So working on this basis its possible to do this two reduced weekly rests on the run etc…Blah blah blah…

We’ve all seen the posts here that say…you need to go back to a point in time when you had a minimum 90 hours…etc…

VOSA’s own advice says a 90 hours weekly rest maybe split into to 45 hours.

VOSA hours checks only go back 28 days.

My question is this…The regulations say a coach driver may postpone his weekly rest and take a back to back rest period comprising of two 45 hour periods AKA 90 hours. When the regs where updated for the 2006 regs this was left out of the regs, then after appeal by coach companies there was an ammendment to the regs and there is now an ammendment to allow this back to back double weekly rest. Where is the supposition that this applies to lorry drivers ?

If a driver has 90 hours off and it includes sunday midnight then it can be used as a 45 regular for the week ending and a 45 for the week starting

WEEKLY REST EXAMPLE.PNG

COULD WORK THE THURSDAY OF WEEK 1 AND HAVE WEEK 1 AS A REDUCED
Assuming week 0 was not a reduced

The EU regs apply to all those under them but there are certain add-ons for PCVs

All I know is that VOSA say it’s legal, that’s good enough for me.
