Speeding on Maybray king way Southampton

A lapse in concentration meant my speedo was ready 31-32mph whilst going past the gatso speed cameras on Maybray king way under the west end road Southampton. But it was so bright and sunny I have no idea if it flashed or not?

I’m a little concerned to now read how prolific this camera really is. Do you think I’ll be okay or not ■■

That’s a tight margin doubt if its calibrated that low.

If you’re being…

'Onist about 32 as tops, you should be ok.

Oh yeah deffo no way it was higher than 32mph. 32mph is litterally worst case scenario. I think it was either 30 or 31 for like a second or two. But I’m just a worrier and was concerned to read how active this particular camera is

You won’t hear a thing !!!

With it being 30mph on this up & down hill section it catches alot of people and it’s up there with the most prolific in the country.

2 post six months apart regarding speed cameras. You may want to consider paying a tad more attention to your surroundings my friend.

If its got you its got you, no point worrying about what you cant change, speed cameras usually have a tolerance of 10% + 2 mph so in a 30 it should be set at 35, but this is guidance from police chiefs and in theory police forces in different areas can choose to set it at 31 if they want or they could go higher than 35, its up them.

Clearly not then

Your speed may show 31 but your doing less, unless it was calibrated that day, the manufacturer cannot possibly set it spot on so they set it so your actual speed is always under whats being shown. You will probably hear nothing.
