speed cameras

rgt1973:
Obviously something going on with this camera. As I posted last week, I have been caught, one of our others twice and another 4 times! Surely not coincidence?

Yep, you’re right, something definitely going on with this camera. I reckon that if you pass it over the speed limit it snaps you! Ridiculous really.

:grimacing:

Beat me to it moaster.

mart1n:
Beat this, 05.15 flashed @ 44.Mph. A15. Northbound .09.20 flashed @ 46.Mph A15 southbound.

Sorry for delay in responding, been so busy running in and out of car dealers all day only just found time to take a leak. I wish at neally 60, one does wonder where some people get there ideas from, perhaps should try my job sometime.

Yes the paperwork has dropped on the mat and been returned, still waiting to see if s a c is an option, even so I have started ■■■■■■■ other drivers off by sticking to limits, some would say “about time too”.

All I can say is that with so many angelic drivers, it really is a wonder how our image doesn’t improve. I hope that none of your halos slip and choke you!

I go flat out on s/c where I deem it safe to do so, but I was also born with brain and know that it is unlikely to end well for me if I go sailing past speed cameras above the speed limit for my class of vehicle. Clearly this is too difficult for some drivers’ heads to figure out, though.

The real problem is many drivers have no backbone. They allow themselves to be bullied and cajoled by some little dweeb in a transport office to rush around like maniacs, as if somehow risking their license is part of their job description.

I personally think the 40mph speed limit should have been increased to 50mph a long time ago, but it is what it is.

green456:
Now I know you drive a transporter I can understand you getting two in 4 hrs.
Transporter drivers appear to be the worst offenders on the road for speeding in my opinion. Is this due to the way they are paid  bonus for each car delivered etc,
I have seen them run from the garage forecourt back to truck to get the next one off, don’t even seem to have time to stop for a ■■■■

I thought the same thing. These guys always seem to be flat to the mat and up against it for whatever reason!
I see one fairly regular that moves hire cars from one end to the other and he’s the same.

I’m amazed that they have gone for it at 44mph, quite within their rights but it’s very, very unusual.

I don’t suppose you kept a copy of the NIP?

I’ve got 6 points on my licence. Both for 44 mph, both 12 months apart and in different police areas.

Tend to stick to 56 now, as 44mph is obviously a very unlucky speed for me!

Was that from a scamera van or a Gatso mate?

Both were vans mate. As with most people I tend to know where the fixed sites are, just the sneaky ones caught me! Can’t complain though, I did the crime so it’s only right I pay the price.

Got my speed awareness course next week, so only three points on my precious licence. I posted this originally as a bit of a wake up call for all of my (professional) collegues but it seems to have backfired on me, as one poster put the haloes must be super glued on. We are talking static cameras here, I have passed them both (scampton northbound and Snitterby southbound) on many occasions possibly on the limiter and with various lorrie’s pushing to pass me without setting them off, so it must be that the parameters can be altered possibly to catch the unwary, as they did on this June morning.
Even so it does seem a bit harsh to be done for being four mph over but I have taken it on the chin, let’s hope all the saints on here remain lucky, and if they ever get caught hopefully they will cheer me up by by posting on here.

I don’t get speeding in a lorry.

The consequences of getting caught are tedious, expensive and frankly, a pain in the arse. The parasitic swines are all over the place. Cameras are rarely situated to improve road safety (which I applaud) and often situated to raise revenue (which I despise).

I do 30mph, 40mph, 50mph and 56 (as near as it will) when appropriate. I do try not to speed even slightly, though occasionally it runs over a little. Yes, I’m probably a pain in the arse at times. But I’m a pain in the arse with a clean licence.

Reason? Hourly pay.

The longer it takes (without taking the ■■■■) the more pennies I have to spend. If I see a scamera van I generally give them a cheery wave as I pass, 1-5mph less than the limit…

Easy really.

You should just sit bang on the limit that will ■■■■ them off more and careful you should by law have both hands on the wheel, especially when it is most likely an auto you drive. Some idiot van driver drove past one with both hands off the wheel because he knew he had already lost his licence by speeding past it earlier, just got himself more points for being a tool.

you could always just say that you should only be facing one charge,as from when you started till when you stopped you never slowed down.stranger excuses have worked before. :unamused:

i too have a sat nav that speaks the verbals if im over the limit that i got after being caught twice in 5 yrs doing 37 in a 30 . seems to work for me.

i know for sure if i had 6 points id likely try desperate measures maybe false plates on the front
