Speed Cameras

Hey all this topic might of been posted before I did try and search it before I posted lol

I know some speed cameras are able to catch a HGV doing say 48 in a 40 i.e single carriageway, does anyone know if its all speed cameras that can detect this these days?

I was driving down Beverley bypass [hull to beverley] and there was a speed camera on the duel carriageway part and i was maxed out at 56 on the limiter obviously should of been doing 50 :unamused: :open_mouth:

Does anyone know if these ones are set up to capture HGV’s?

I think you have nothing to be concerned about. I presume you weren’t in an HGV if 50 is what you “should have been doing”. If you’re talking about e.g. the one on the A1079 near Dunswell, IIRC they’re Truvelos, which means that according to this: forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=51595 you would get away with it even if you were in an HGV, provided they are triggered at above the NSL. However, I think that doing 56MPH in an HGV on a typical non dual carriageway whilst passing a speed camera is like a red rag to a bull. 50 you might just get away with. More recent GATSOs can differentiate between sizes of vehicle and you can bet technology on other systems is being developed as we type.
