It depends which county you were clocked in. Contact the County police and ask them, some run these courses but others just want the cash.
You will be responsible for paying for the course if it is offered but as you say no points or fine

I got clocked doing the same about 3 weeks ago in Northumberland and i can do a course but the same happened to me in Warickshire about four years ago and they didnt offer me a course. I had to have 3 points and a fine. I wonder if it depends what county you get caught in. Hope this helps you.
