spanish dodges.............

boris:
Does anyone know what engine and gearbox these motors had?

The best I can tell you Boris, is the info sheets say the engine on the newer 300-series was the Chrysler BS-36 (probably based on a ■■■■■■■ design), and the gearbox was the Fuller RTO9509A.
Hope this helps, though i’m sure those better informed could elaborate some.

Always sounded nice as they sailed past, Somebody mentioned James of Bedlington yes they did have some, still going passed a MAN still brown & white but a bit more modern, some pics of theres on the North East Forum

Cheers Dave.

8 wheeler

KINGS finished-up a couple of months back :frowning:

I can remember going to the first ever truck races at Brands Hatch and a red spanish dodge was racing. i think it came from Norfolk. I remember Pat Kennett did the commentary.

I remember Fords at Halewood would be littered with them for days on end, waiting to tip from Spain I think

I took this shot in the dock at Algeciris about 1996.

hiya,
Wasn’t some of the Spanish dodge “jobbies” powered with the Detroit lump I seem to remember the James boys blowing me off on the A1 they sounded like they had the distinct sound of the “yankee screamer”.

Wasnt that Acker Bilk ?

Banks of Sandy ran 6 wheel rigids (bulkers and flats) in green and under Banks Transport in plain blue, as well as a fleet of Dodge artics before replacing them with T.45s in the early 80s.

I don’t ever remember seeing any running over here as mixers? But it didn’t look bad in this guise!

Always lookes smarter when they were done up in Spanish colours, with the big lettering on the sun-visor & bright colours!
