Southern Star spotted at Sainsbury`s

Saw Harry Monk` s motor on 1/02/13, at the Waltham Abbey depot, i was on the M25 at 11.30, did you see the overturned truck on the M11 exit, the wrecker was on the way, so i do not know why it had caused a problem all day, there was some spillage to clean up.
It was on Radio Two all day,how long does it take to stand up a lorry again?

Did you get to chat to Mr Monk?

I was going past him when i was on the M25, he was washing his Y fronts in his washing up bowl then hung them on their fence to dry out in the sun, lol.
I saw the security men run up to his cab shouting can you not read the sign, “no hand washing allowed on site.!”

That is a lovely piece of machinery, but as far as I can tell there has never been a railway engine called Southern Star, apart from the ones I had Hornby knock up for me.

To stand one up, 20 mins, half an hour.

To clear the load when it’s come through the curtain? Depends on the load. If it can be cleared with a machine, however long it takes to get a machine and muckaways on site. Plus the loading time.

If you can’t get the load with a machine, then it’ll be to handball. Time then depends on how many people you have available. It’s at this point the Highways agency disappear out of sight. 99% of the time, it’s the lads at the recovery company who do the donky work. I’ve handballed a fair few 26 ton loads in my time

Then there’s the road. Depending on how much diesel the wagon’s lost, and how big the gouges in the blacktop are decides if the road gets resurfaced or not. Been to a few jobs where it’s taken us 3 hours base to base, but the roads been closed all day.

I havent had the pleasure of seeing this fine vehicle even though I look out for it on a regular basis , when I do see Southern Star its going to be epic.

Southern Star spotted heading in to Taunton Town about 5 minutes ago as I walked to work!

Isn’t it just Mr M! :sunglasses:

That Harry gets around, he will have a fan club soon, selling scarves, baseball hats, badges and stickers of the Southern Star, and signing autographs at the MSA`s.

Well he must have found his way out of taunton town as I saw him leaving…this week may get no better for me now!!!
