Yes Its fine there, stopped there half a dozen times now, be careful lately they have had some road surfacing in there and what they haven’t used they have spread about, bit boggy in places!!
When in Southampton you can try SO16 8AP ( Rownhams Motorway Service Area ) on M27 between J3 and J4.
I should think it is quite safe. I am not sure though.
