David Henderson photos of Scotlee
Absolutely spot on there McWilliam, Tom Carruthers was a legend with his Leyland Super Hippo which I belive was an ex Siddle C. Cook motor. I remember it standing alongside the garage at the top of the hill in Carrutherstown ready for the off at a moments notice.
Thanks for posting these two nostalgic photos. Leyland 600

Hugh Turner has kindly posted this photo on the Solway Vehicle Enthusiasts Club, quite frankly it is one of the best photos that I have ever seen - more please.
Congratulations to Hugh, this is a cracking photo of Blue Band Motors garage at Lockerbie. Two Albion Victor coaches and probably a Chiftain box van. The coach on the right LAO ■■? I am sure still exists in preservation down in the Newton le Willows area of Lancashire.
Cheers , Leyland 600
The Blue Band Motors photo is superb, the bus has a ■■■■■■■■ registration not a Scottish one. Where abouts is this depot in Lockerbie?

Hi amerindo. The Albion Victor coach was supplied new to J.H. Henderson of Alston 24th March 1952. Reg No LAO 630 and was a 31 seater with Duple bodywork. The Blue Band depot was on the right as you headed over the railway bridge up towards the golf course heading for Corrie.

Hi Mc William, Yes lets not forget the events 25 yers ago tonight I was unaware of the incident but was driving my coach from Penrith back to Wigton on the B5305 and had I looked over to my right would have seen the blaze as many folk from my area did. If the explosion happened two minutes earlier it would have been over or very near to home being on the regular flightpath. I had a friend from Lockerbie who had a very lucky escape in his car near the filling station.
