blue line 1994.in my opinion the worst model sk merc. ever built the v6 powered 2534,gutless,as the scots say,it would ne pull your granny of the ■■■■■■■ .

Hi all, Andrew have to agree about those V6 motors, although it was a 1729 and 1733s that I had experience with.
What happened to Blue Line, reading between the lines on here they had some tie up with Cardiff Transport in the end!
Didn’t Julian Hodge get invlolved in 1984?

Regards Paul

hi paul, blue line was bought by cardiff transport which became carline transport, they had daf,s and the old cardiff trucks man erf i drove for ct & carline the scanias they bought were crap ,stillers bought them out then i will put a stiller pic on regards john

your right about julian hodge the welsh banker.they were taken over when i was there by a firm from rhymney way called pontlottyn transport.no way could they buy blue line out they were only a small 2bit firm with some road sweepers etc.the word was they were owned by hodge and used as a name to buy us out.bunch of cowboys.then carline became the new firm which was an amalgimation of cardiff transport and blue line.hence; carline.then stillers took over.ade.

Blue Line Transport were bought out by Pontlotyn Trans port and run out of Tondu for afew years .And then pontlotyn sold the land to westburys for building .And then they bought the B R S yard Waterton Bridgend .I think thats wen Cardiff Transport got involved .And then Car Line came on the scene .Dai Cap.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Julian Hodge was into taking business’s over and stripping them of their assets, way before accountants found it fashionable.
One company who fronted up to him and taught him a thing or two about business was the two sons of Stan Thomas Pies of Merthyr. Stan sold out to Julian Hodge who renamed the company Fleur de Lys. (spelling) Stan jr and Peter not happy with the destruction of their fathers business set up Peters Savoury Products and in turn went on to sell that business years later.
Jinks@62, Pontlottyn Transport was a small family business, supplying 4 and 6 wheel tippers to the NCB on daywork, Julian Hodge using the name as you said to remain anonymous.

hiya,
Been a bit out of sorts today Dennis only managed a couple of cans of Mangers cider which i normally drink as my chaser I could get a bit addicted to the stuff, guaranteed to get a b"“”“”“”"g off the Doc next week when he checks my long term blood sugar levels but at nearly 75 i’ll give him as much as he gives me “hard as bleedin nails”.
thanks harry long retired.

Hi Graham, yes ringo rings a bell, you would of seen their tjs, tks, and tms in your time with Cossletts. The bulk were tippers with a few skips and road sweepers as well. They had a brand new 6 wheel tm with a Detroit in it about 1979/80.
A lot of their guys had been with them a long time, but it looks as if they lost the plot when they took over Blue Line.

well i must admit england played well.i reckon theyll win the grand slam now.fair play.wales beat italy but i wasnt impressed the second half.if theyd got their kicks over italy would have won.its like we dont want the ball?every time wales got possesion they kicked it back to them.if we play like that we wont beat ireland and certainly not france.we are so predictable.cant seem to change the game plan to suit.well done england at least someones improved.ade.

Hi, Andrew yes Colin and Clive were the grandsons of the founder, their mothers father. Their father ran Pontlottyn Transport and both boys went into the business from school. I new Colin he was the most level headed of them, looks as if they were out of their leauge down in Tonddu.
