an old school mate of mine had this truck brand new with penllyne,his name is paul lampart a.k.a ginger,he works for j. mcarthy plant now.perhaps the chap you refer to had it later on after paul left penllyne.

My mate who drove for Penllyne is called Paul Groves and had a foden (Sorry had a long week memory must be on the hit list ) he was later a fitter for Carline amongst others. Yes I know of Ginger though donât think I have ever spoken to him- I used to work on crushers and before that was fitter for CBL just round the corner from their yard so will have crossed paths at some time im sure!. Great thread this, brings back lots of memories!

thanks for the kind words mate.before cbl moved to pyle,vale transport were in the same yard/building and i am working on getting some photos of that fleet which was owned by one of john raymondâs brothers.you have probably met my old mate ginger at some time.

Bit of info on Scammel from Bridgend it was owned by Palmer & Palmer the old foundry Bridgend. They were a very old firm that run the steam Fodens back and fore London.They later became Anstey & Palmer and became part of British Road Services Regards Dai Davies
