Hi pete this is a great thread you got going spent my childhood running down to south wales with my dad in red green and white scania 110 cadwallader bros from rodington used be on scrap from gkn sankey and wheel rim back used run akis and erf not got many photos but what we have will try to load on .my bro used to be on the steel for llloyds when he wasnt going over the water

Hi Ian my dad used too work for the Cadwalladers at Rodington. After Cadwalladers went it changed too a Port a cabin firm making port a cabins . I worked for a bloke that took cabins from there.My dad told me he came too work one day and they said there was an artic over there to drive they said you would learn! That he did he didn’t even had too take a test then.But he was a natural.I can just remeber the green a red Scania 110,s .Tony

hi lads great thread… would anybody have any pics or new drivers that drove for john beynon evans and sons newport? mainly volvo’s dafs and man’s…they started in the seventies up till about 5 yrs ago. they worked in bell lines newport also run steel out of the orb works…they also did european work for sheddick lkw walter, and victor treacy int ireland pulling fridges… thanks…

geo 4x was when not working always parked on the industrial estate before the brecon bypass.

bridgend based alan spragg started out with an f86 as a j+m transport subbie,this was one of many erf’s he ran in the 80’s.

Hi all, here is another South Wales firm.i dont think ive seen any of theirs on here yet. Found this snap in my old collection of photos. Dont know who took the photo im affraid but hope you like it. Might have a few more also.

Mark R, thats a nice photo. Iirc Hughes used to run some Leyland Mastiff 4 wheel box vans. Used to them heading back from the Midlands mid 70’s.
