Hi all, Andrew iirc it was the late 70s early 80s when BRS took over all of Hoovers distribution. It was strange seeing different vehicles pulling trailers from a long time private fleet.
Regards Paul.

Hi All
BRS took over the Hoover fleet in 1979. I left the fleet at this time and went as transport co-ordinator for Midland Oil in Ebbw Vale, the earlier photo shows John Smith standing in front of a 111. John was the last driver to join the Hoover fleet.
Has anyone got any photographs of the Mandators Hoovers ran ?

Hi Paul,
I have been busy reading the magazine you kindly sent me.it has given me a few ideas of things I can do to my truck.john smallcoal that scamell crusader and several others are all owned by my friend rob Wilson from goytr near pontypool.that 1733 merc. You found in Gloucester looks very straight and original.good find fair play . I think? those army oshkosh’s were assembled at llantrisant? Joints bought a few mandator’s from Hoover at Merthyr.i have photos of them.as I recall the aec Hoover fleet were grey.would this scania be a brs motor?
