hi dave,
totally agree.i like the older fodenâs,but the 3000 series were awfull.hereâs an n.r.evans man driven by an ex joint driver peter lewis.
I used to run scrap to Treforest Ind Est, tip the run Mountain Ash & load Phurnisite, & bring it back to Ashington NCB coal depot, this Foden performed very well for me, never any bother, but I do know some of my mates wouldnt look a it never mind drive it, I think it was the 12Speed box put them off a bit. Happy Days Larry.PS.it had a Leyland 680 Power Plus

I bet those drivers that refused to drive that Foden Larry, never drove a TK with a 330 engine up over the Brecon Beacons with 10 ton on the back.Give me the Foden every time.A proper lorry.
Cheers Dave.

hi larry,
cool foden pictures, those fodenâs were good old sloggers in their day.foden, for me lost it towards the end.i think the oil companies kept them going in the later years.if it wasnât for them then i doubt paccar would have bought them.the less said about the alpha the better.
regards andrew.
totally agree larry , s21 , s39 , were nice motors , once you mastered the12 speed you could get them going a bit . i didnât rate the s80 , it was a step back for me . i had an s10 with the 290 big cam â â â â â â â , that was brilliant , but a bit thirsty , cheers , dave
