Now I just know that you want to volanteer for the Sunday night shift Larry, well that’s OK because after a gruelling shift each over the A40 'an back you and “H” would need 3 days solid in bed to get over it now ( I don’t think “H” is very keen on Brains Bitter either ) Turn the clock back 50 years and both shifts, one after another, nee bother for either of you eh!.Plus I don’t think a Scania 80 would have lasted very long on that job but Andrews big Merc would “■■■■ it” Cheers Dennis.
Hiya,
Well Dennis you got one thing correct the 80 thing wouldn’t have had a very
long life,in’t first lay-by and I’d torch the bloody thing drawing it clear of the
trailer first though, I don’t want to complicate matters for you being a reet
and proper driver.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hiya,
Thank’s Andrew, that is some motor, would have liked to see where the “Michi Man”
mounted, but she sure looks well something to be proud of and one thing that I
really like is you’ve retained the painted wheels I personally don’t like those chrome
ones they were fine on the"big Yank" but not on a motor that looks like it’s ready to
go to work on our British roads.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hi Harry,
Thanks again.i am a big believer in restoring different trucks different ways, they all have a unique look and identity and in the same way my peterbilt had lots of chrome, stainless, polished aluminium and airbrushing that doesn’t mean I would ever put any of that on my merc.after the mot (eventually) then there will be more lights,Michelin man and that is it.this one to me spells, less is more and two colour painted steel rims add to that look.one thing no vehicle of mine will ever ever ever have is light bars, there are not enough swear words in the English language to express my feelings on those stupid, tacky, nasty, vile, hideous objects! They cause us all manner of problems on our customers vehicles at work, are outrageously overpriced and have invariably been wired to the vehicle by a man whose technical ability to the auto electrical industry is,putting it politely, open to debate.rant over,I reckon this Atki
is a bit of you Harry…
