HI Kingwisford Kit . You were right Parrys did move from the yard in Pentre , Sandycroft ,abount half a mile down towards Queensferry on the right hand side before the traffic lights they were in T TS trailor parts yard .I was thinking of the other road from Hawarden ,you ment the road from manor lane sorry leed you astray my little grey cells are not working as well as they used too .Regards Barry Waddy
Here we go then, not great shots due to being slides!, ERF B series in ALF Parrys yard Connahs Quay, when quite new , was driven by Dave ■■, who went on to work with me at TNT
S80 Foden, driven by Jimmy, Parrys ran mainly British trucks, had a Seddon Atki 400 which was a repo from an owner driver, before they moved to Sandycroft.
I think The Mercs and lone F10 was George Mayers from Saltney, prior to that ran a fleet of Borderers, from a yard on Boundry Lane.
JH Hourd fact…the trucks used to be green, then Stan bought an ex British Leyland Guy Big J, in blue and silver, from then on in the trucks were blue and grey. They ran DAF 2800s in the main
Happy dayzzzz

Hi Barry
yes, I remember him, he was a good pal of one of the lads at Shones, Roy Buckler (Taffy),also remember Squeeker, at Parrys, and their fitter Emma (aka “the blackman”) due to his black hands!, legendary fitter. I was looking at the pictures of your trucks on another web site, and noticed the 86, HDM773K, ex Shones truck. Boswells, another firm I remember who packed up early on as things changed in shotton. do you remember Alistair from Harris’s, I bumped into him at Mike Shones 70th last year. were have those years gone…I have the answer to not remembering names, just call them all John (LOL), ask Pete 359…long story!

Hi M8, yes a few! a great truck to drive, and good on the fuel, better than the 290. wonder who will buy her? home in Ireland maybe? just needs that big grille back on…but thats only my view! non the less one of the 2 best 88s that have been for sale in past few weeks.
