there was a d registered,pre 4000 series sleeper cab tipper they ran.i haven’t seen that one for a few years now.here’s another from the 4000 series launch.
had a few pictures sent to me by member chris childs,a guy i first met 30 years ago when he worked for j&m on stormy down.starting with a convoy of transcon’s loaded with concrete beams from costain in bridgend.these may have? been for the m56 at bangor or frodsham.the first is mtw 221p a 6x4,some of the other 4x2’s are coupled to york bonus loaders.the bogies were? as i recall cut down scammell 8 wheelers.steering was through a morris 1000 gearbox .thanks chris,it’s not every day i get j&m photos from canada mate

Hi Lawrence it was probably L E Jones from Ruthin . They did a lot of slabs from Anglesey down to Alcoa Swansea as did Gwynedd on occasions as well as Alcan Newport . regards keith

how’s the family mate?j&m subbie mike connally had transcon. tuh 3s brand new.i seem to remember? j&m bought it off him and ran it,dereck pickett (r.i.p.) usually drove 3s.when this picture was taken during 1982/83? mike would have left j&m by then.
