hi all,
here is another gem from sunday’s visit to west wales.an immaculate very low mileage erf.

reminds me of d675 cheers martyn.

Get your hand down boyo and buy this one as well as the Merc!! I think I know where you can get a “half decent” paint job for the right money!! All you’ve got to do is tell the bloke wether you want “niagra” or “orange peel” finish!! Cheers Dennis.

sorry lads, but this erf and all the others there are not for sale.whenever ec14 takes me past carmarthen we always find some gems :sunglasses: .tbh i can’t recall how many km’s the erf had done, but it was very low,as you can probably see by it.there was on the same farm a motor that made me think of the mayor of kendal as soon as i saw it    ,all will be revealed
regards andrew.

and another erf

jennings sleeper b series,240 gardner.

That’s a cracking E14 there, the whole bunch are to be honest.

Andrew I forgot about Glyn Johns Transcons, does anyone remember the TV series the Brothers, they showcased an early transcon on there, Hammond Brothers it was called iirc.

Lawrence, saw pictures of your trucks on Bubb’s thread earlier, proper lorries for sure the E reg Forden, 1967 was just about when I was getting into cars and lorries at the ripe old age of 8.
Perhaps Andrew may be able to help us solve the Parfitt’s you were trying to trace earlier.

Regards to all,
Paul

Yeh ur spot on, I’ve put a page on facebook for glyn John, there’s pictures I’ve bought and some I’ve had off here, there’s a bloke called Peter jones, I think he’s been on here, but he worked for them for a [zb] age and he knows all the info, apparently they had the first maggie deutz as well, don’t know if it was in Wales or in the country but some rugby mush presented the keys

I don’t remember any Deutz in their fleet Steve, do you mean Ivecos. They went from Atkis,Sed Atkis, Volvo f86/88 f10, Iveco to Mercs
Noiseyjake, used to work for them, he looks in from time to time.

Regards Paul

glyn john had magirus deutz vehicles before ford took them over and called them iveco

Hello Peter, been scratching my head here, were the Deutz water or air cooled. I think I remember some on the nappy contract come to think of it, but may be wrong. My excuse is it was a long time ago lol.
Regards Paul

Yes they were on that job, and they had air and water cooled I’ll put the photos on tonight about ten, if I don’t get held up on the Micky 6 on me way home, cheers

hi all,
yet another erf from the west wales collection  .this time an ex parson’s of exeter olympic :sunglasses: .

Had a visit off graham yesterday collecting a 45 ton machine

the owner of the collection is also into foden’s.

Hello all, well Magirus Deutz in South Wales shouldnt de as hard as the Mayor of Kendals 8LXB Big J!! I think the first ones were operated by Bill Entress, the round tin fronted ones, about 195hp (and that was big power), I couldnt get near them on the Heads of the Valleys, mid 60s with a 150 Foden S21! I think that the Glyn S John Magiruss came from Rhymney Valley Motors,Pengam Rd, Blackwood, 232s with the plastic grill. Late 70s?? Not a bad, light old motor, but a very “Hoover like” exhaust note!! Cheerio for now.

As promised, now ive got me feet back on the floor. According to peter jones who worked there for over twenty years, this also was a first in south wales, the maggie that is

I wish I still had it Regards Larry. If you look on srapbook memmories its on there.
