hi mgb,
can you remember what colour she was when new?i forgot to ask this morning.i am not sure if she was a demo with muddie bond if so,she may have been factory orange good feedback lads .
She was as she is now the only thing missing is an illuminated headboard and a couple of rotating beacons as far as I can see.I think the trailer came with it,had a rolling crane on.Was there a tall guy with a beard there when you went to see it (Pete)
That would be “Santa Claus” waiting to meet Martyn !!! Anon II.
hi all,

Were the 350 mercs V8’s or V6’s The ones we ran at Bewick Transport were 440 and 380’s which were V8’s.I never really fancied the V6’s and resisted all attempts by MB to operate any! Cheers Dennis.

hi dennis,
the 350 mercs were all v8’s.joint ran around 10 v6’s @340hp and one 1831.what a gutless load of crap that was.you could count the wheelnuts going around when you were loaded coming over the beacon’s with that, also the v6’s in joint’s were never anywhere near as reliable as any of the merc.v8’s.you are a wise man to have avoided those v6’s in the bewick fleet.i always admired your mercs.because they had the larger g cab.there was only one of them in south wales boyo .
regards andrew.

Thanks for that Andrew! you’ve learnt me something there as I always thought the 350’s were 6’s!! Shows how much interest I showed!! Now come on tell me who manufactured the new Coiler in that shot?? don’t say Joints workshop otherwise I’ll be forced to take back all my “negative” coments about those 12 wheeled monstrosities!!! Cheers Dennis.
Bewick:
Just for you Andrew and Martyn, last one to-night so no British, Scandinavian or French crap !!!
dennis thats a fine looking proper lorry cheers martyn.
Just looking at the shot Martyn, those Mercs we ran went over the water with 4 mtr.trailers and the one in the shot is a 4.2 UK fleet trailer which accounts for the low setting of the roof deflector!! Anyway I wish you well with your “new” project—keep you out the boozer over the winter “dai bach” !!! Cheers Dennis.
