We are testing out the Trucknet detective skills here,
Dai Connor [daiecho143] has this old photo of what looks to be a Volvo F88 240 that his dad [Ken Connor] drove in the 70’s, it was thought to be based in Newport. Reg number KNY 812K.

Can anyone shed any light on who may have owned this truck please?
Neil.

hi neil,
a total guess,ely transport.
regards andrew.

Seen in Newport early 60’s.

i would say that f88 belonged to rhys davies taffs well.

hello dave,
my guess would be that trader would have been one of many that worked around the clock transporting colliery shale and the like from the valleys to develop the new spencer works,a very busy time back then for anyone that owned a tipper, tales have it that shirley bassey was into tippers as well. but she got rich not through tippers i would say.

Hi Graham,
It was loaded with shale.I found it hunting around.I expect Shirley had a lot of different tippers  .
Cheers Dave.

That is a very good possibility Graham, when the livery was green and red.
