I’m surprised no one’s mentioned the chicken factory at Willand M5 J28-27. When that place and the tannery behind are dumping/washing out you can almost see the hairs growing on your teeth.
On the Waterbeach Crossing post, Thelongdrag mentions British Celanese at Spondon. In the sixties that stunk.
Fresh laid Tarmac is the best IMO
Worst = Bridgwater (not the cellophane factory, the people)

Cotton Valley, J14,M1- Milton Keynes [zb] Works gives off a bit of a Hum sometimes & most Landfills whiff a bit, although they tend to spray air freshener across them now.Could be the one I’m on about
CottonValley smells a lot TBH, usually makes the local papers with all the complaints about it.
Getting two forklift trucks delivered back to our depot that had been on hire to Pataks food, they reeked of curry…yomyomyom The trucks that come in from animal feed places are not so nice smelling though
Goldilox:
A61 near Harewood in the summer. Some days are rank.
Now then Goldilox that must be the sweet smell of wealth and entitlement , Harrogate smells like that.
How you doin anyway ?
Jim

Yep ! Glad I live on the west side of MK, who would want to buy a house in Broughton/Brooklands, right next to the motorway ? (Streets that are only wide enough for a pushbike, all that road noise & the ‘Lovely’ Aroma to go with it !)
Kellogs factory Manchester.
McVities on the A6 coming out of Stockport.

I did look at buying on Broughton a few years back.
Had to pull out as we were going through another redundancy, plus I’d driven around the estate a few times and there seemed to be a LOT of immigrants wandering the streets with nothing to do.
I wonder how Jaguar or Seat do any business some days.

& Coca Cola, I wonder where they source their water from ? Willen Lake or a secret pipe from Cotton Valley !
Always thought Coke Tasted like ■■■■ without Bacardi to water it down. Lol.
Best smells are Coffee factories (one in Hayes just off The Parkway springs to mind) and oven chip factories like Peterborough and the gits on the estate our depot’s on. Mmmm chips…
Worst? Trampers, usually

I like Coke!
There’s a landfill near Lakes Estate and it used to really stink in summer, dead decomposing animal/flesh type smell.
Good idea to put a new housing estate on the other side of it then !

Coke’s Nice, Makes me Sneeze though when I sniff it
That’s Newton Longville Landfill, they probably allowed the housing estate to be built because it’s only got a few years of life left, it’s nearly full from all that rubbish from the ‘Cockneys’, then they’ll cap it & make it a nice pleasant country park with trees & methane coming out of it for the next 20,000 years. Nice.
Wont stop the locals/newly moved in from complaining about the dirty wagons or the ‘Smelly’ Smell though, until it closes.
I never get out of Glasgow, so my best has to be on the M74 around Polmadie where thr Matthew Algie company roast their coffee beans. I love that smell. Their coffee is the best I’ve ever tasted.
Worst is a few miles back along the M74 near Uddingston. On one side you have Paterson’s waste dump, and directly opposite you have the sewage works. Must be the worst combination of bad smells ever!:mad::mad:
