Hi Irish Lorries

Should have given you some info on Australian built Mack Trucks -

Mack Trucks have been made (or rather, probably assembled from mainly U.S. parts) since 1963, in Wacol, here in Queensland.

This particular truck is a Mack Trident that comes fitted with either a 12.8 litre Euro 5 engine MF8 500 bhp Max torque 1840 lb-ft or 535 bhp 1920 lb - ft

Can be fitted with “AXLE BACK” design for operation with 26 metre B double trailers for Highway operation, or “AXLE
FORWARD” for truck and dog operation that you’ll have seen in some of Jelliot’s photo’s

There also is a larger Mack Titan fitted 16 litre MP10 6 cylinder Euro 5 engine at 685 bhp - Max torque 1000-1550rpm (685Hp) 2300 lb-ft (3150 Nm) - This one used as Road Train or B Triple usually - as in combinations shown below.

That’s the end of the lesson - keep up your photo’s and I must say - loved your car !

Thanks for the information always had a interest in Australian lorries

Just think, if they didn’t have all those lights maybe they wouldn’t squint so much.

Perhaps this is why most Japs wear glasses

The guys and women that drive the decatora (Japanese show trucks ) are no different to other truck fans anywhere else in the world.
The French, Scandinavian, American, British, Australian, and other European and Asian countries, all have their own truck culture, and why shouldn’t they. I have some Japanese mates that think what the British do to their show trucks is very annul, and typical of the British introverted culture as a whole. It doesn’t make them an more right or wrong than any one else anywhere in the world. Some of the work that they putting to their trucks is outstanding. The money they are willing to spent is about 30 % aging on the value of a new truck. That’s how they want to spend their time and money, who is anyone else to say they’re right or wrong.
Personally I like them and can appreciate the work they put into their trucks.

I suppose your right but I’m surprised there legal in Japan

They don’t drive around with all the lights on all the time. Most of the time at night it’s just normal head lights and a few marker lights.
Most of them drive only on specific well known routes, that the drivers know well, other wise they would just pull of all the stainless on kerbs and speed bumps.
The roads in Japan are just like the anywhere else in the world, some are good, some are average, and some are just rubbish.
